"I used to dread beach trips," says Wanjiru, a 34-year-old teacher from Nairobi. "Every swimsuit I found either gaped at the cups or the straps dug in so badly I couldn't enjoy the water."
Wanjiru wears a 34GG — a size that virtually no Kenyan retailer stocks. For years she'd squeeze into ill-fitting costumes, constantly adjusting, never comfortable, never confident.
The Turning Point
When she discovered Malaika Intimates through a friend's Instagram post, she was sceptical. "I'd been burned before by plus size brands that still only went to a D cup."
But her first order — a Siren Bandeau Set in Midnight Navy — changed everything. "I cried when it arrived and actually fit. Properly fit. I wore it for eight hours at the beach and didn't adjust it once."
More Than Swimwear
Wanjiru's story is one we hear often. When clothing fits the way it's supposed to, something shifts. You stop thinking about what your body looks like and start enjoying where you are.
